چکیده
Abstract Background Gastric variceal bleeding is associated with a high mortality rate, and sclerotherapy using N-butyl-2-cyanoacrylate the treatment of choice. The risk recurrent bacteremia after injection has rarely been reported. We aimed to evaluate frequency this complication in real-world setting. Methods analyzed retrospective data from single-center cohort patients liver cirrhosis who underwent for gastric varices January 2010 March 2021. Recurrent was defined as repeated caused by same microorganism resolution first event occurring at least two weeks date final positive blood culture event. Results A total 232 receiving 338 sessions were enrolled. All received antibiotics prophylaxis; third-generation cephalosporins used. average age 59.5 ± 12.2 years mean Model End-Stage Liver Disease (MELD) score 14.8 7.3. BACKGROUND Histoacryl glue (N-butyl-2-cyanoacrylate) has well-established utility in the endoscopic management of gastrointestinal variceal bleeding. The role of Histoacryl glue in non-variceal bleeding is less clear, and there are few articles describing its use in this setting. METHODS Six patients with intractable non-variceal gastrointestinal bleeding were managed using injection of Histo...
